His family home is undergoing major renovations following his divorce after 30 years of marriage, allowing him to propose to his long-time lover.

Meanwhile, in his recent review of a book about Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon, Dahl compares Israel to Hitler's Third Reich and Jews to ‘murderous nuns’. His antisemitic remarks spark a wave of condemnation in the press, leading to an unexpected confrontation at the Dahl family home on a sweltering summer afternoon. The writer finds himself faced with a stark choice: issue a public apology or risk his name and reputation.
